Long distance relationships seem to be more and more common these days as people look for potential partners outside of their local area.
But being in an long distance relationship (LDR) doesn’t mean you want to miss out on sexy fun.
And if my guess is right, you’d probably like your romantic partner to be in on some of that sexiness, too, right?
The good news is that you don’t have to suffer:
Sex toy manufacturers have really started increasing the options available for long distance sex toys in recent years.
The OhMiBod Fuse is one that I’ve had the pleasure of trying out recently.
Let me tell you about it…
Distance is No Barrier
OhMiBod Fuse is manufactured by a company called Kiiroo.
Like several other long distance sex toy brands, OhMiBod has an app that enables its toys to play together.
Let’s take a moment to think about what that means.
When you are playing with an app controlled toy like OhMiBod Fuse, not only can your partner control your sensations, they can actually use another toy from Kiiroo at the same time, and set their stimulation patterns to match yours.
It’s like you really are having sex with them, despite the miles between you.
Now, if you’re not in an LDR, then Fuse may not be the best option for you.
There are lots of other dual stimulation vibrators out there.
I highly recommend the Lelo Ina Wave rabbit vibrator if you have some cash to spare.
It may not be the least expensive option, but it definitely provides amazing blended orgasms with its unique G-spot stimulating motion.
If you are in an LDR, these are the things to look for in a sex toy for partner play:
- Does it stimulate the areas you prefer? G-spot? Clit? Both?
- Does the app work well?
- What additional features does it come with? Do you like them?
- Do the features make it worth the price compared to similar toys?
- Can your partner sync their toy experience with yours?
Now that you know what to look for, let’s delve into the features of this particular toy.
OhMiBod Fuse: A Dual Stimulation Vibe With Touch Technology
Although it doesn’t describe itself as such on the Kiiroo website, OhMiBod Fuse is a rabbit style vibrator, meaning that it provides both G-spot and clitoral stimulation.
It is also an app controlled toy that allows for control to be given to a partner, whether they are long distance or in the same room.
But what really stands out about Fuse from other app controlled rabbits is that it has a unique touch-sensitive feature. When in this mode, inserting the vibrator deeper makes the vibration intensity increase. And when you pull it out, the intensity softens.
This variation in intensities creates a very exciting sensation, making you want to push the toy back in as it teases you with the softer vibrations.
Here’s my overall impression:
Pros:
- Compatible with Apple and Android with Bluetooth.
- Vibrations sync with partner toy.
- Can be controlled with or without the app.
- Touch-sensitive mode can be turned on or off.
- LED lights indicate charge level.
Cons:
- Somewhat loud.
- Clitoral arm doesn’t have its own motor, which reduces clit stimulation.
- Only a 1-hour battery life at full charge.
- App can be difficult to figure out.
Experience VR Sex
Okay, this is a feature I haven’t seen much in teledildonic toys. OhMiBod Fuse can actually pair with virtual reality headsets. That means you can experience VR sexy entertainment while achieving climax with your vibrator. The male version of this type of toy would be the Kiiroo Onyz 2.
In general, I tell women to make sure they need the features of a long distance capable vibrator before choosing it over another variety that may have better functionality. But the VR feature definitely makes Fuse worth the purchase, even if you don’t need it for long distance or partner play.
Fuse has definitely hit the sweet spot on making a sophisticated tech toy that appeals to women for both solo use and partner use. And that’s pretty impressive.
Enjoy Dual Stimulation
Fuse does offer dual stimulation of the g-spot and clit. These kinds of toys are a favorite of many women, but I have to note a drawback with the Fuse:
The clitoral arm does not have its own separate motor, as is the case with the best rabbit vibrators. Instead, the vibrations are residual from the shaft.
Now, this may work fine for some women. But if you like intense clitoral vibrations, you’ll probably find this toy lacking.
App controlled vibrators can be used solo or with a partner in the same room. But one of the big perks is being able to use them long distance, when your partner is away.
Not only does Fuse allow for this, it also syncs with other toys that use the Kiiroo Feel Connect app. This capability allows you and your partner to use your toys at the same time and experience the same intensity and sensation speed.
Toys with this feature are truly the closest you can get to having sex long distance.
I will say, though, that the app can be a bit confusing at times. You may have to read the manual to get things working the way you want.
And it doesn’t have some of the features that other app controlled vibrators have. Notably missing are the ability to sync with music patterns, voice command activation, and pattern customization. You’re stuck with the preset patterns (which is not a big deal for many women).
Change the Sensations Without Fiddling With Buttons
OhMiBod Fuse has a touch-sensitive mode that really excited me because there are few other toys with this capability.
The sensors in the shaft can basically tell how far the toy is inside you. The deeper you insert it, the stronger the vibrations get. And when you pull the toy out, the vibration intensity decreases.
It’s honestly a great way to tease yourself. And who doesn’t like a bit of edging before their O?
Know When You’re Running Out of Time
One of the biggest drawbacks of both battery-operated and rechargeable sex toys is that you never know for sure when the charge will run out.
You don’t have to worry about that with Fuse because it has a ring-shaped LED light display that indicates charge level. The light will blink red when the battery is getting low. And it’s white (with no blinking) when it is fully charged.
I really appreciate this feature.
That being said, I do wish that it held a charge longer. It takes 90 minutes or more to reach a full charge, and you only get 1 hour of play time from it. That’s probably plenty for most solo sessions, but sometimes we want our toys to last a bit longer… or not have to be recharged between every use.
Easily See What Mode Your Vibrator is in
In addition to indicating charge level, the LED lights also indicate which mode your toy is currently functioning in when it’s on.
In Bluetooth mode (for being controlled via app or using with VR), the ring flashes dark blue.
In touch-sensitive mode and manual mode, the light is pale blue. Touch-sensitive mode is the first setting when the light turns pale blue. After that, it cycles through the 7 pre-set vibration patterns.
Reviews: How Other Women Feel About Fuse
OhMiBod Fuse is actually getting some really good reviews.
Women like the shape and power level, with its rumbly vibrations. And the smooth clit arm seems to be preferred over the more traditional “rabbit ear” shape of some other vibrators.
The biggest complaint seems to be the price tag.
Some users also report a bit of difficulty with using the buttons or getting the app to work. I think with practice these issues are easy to overcome, though.
More Choices: Other Toys You Might Prefer
Now, if you’re looking for something that trades off some of the Fuse’s high-tech features to make up for some of its drawbacks, here’s what I found:
We-Vibe Sync
Sync is not a rabbit, but it is a dual stimulation toy.
Instead of a shaft and clitoral stimulator, it is U-shaped to hold itself in place both internally and externally.
Sync is an app controlled toy that works with the We-Vibe app, so it is good for long distance play time. It also has the benefit of syncing with music (though it is not VR compatible).
In addition to being used for LDRs, it can be worn during penetrative sex to enhance both partners’ experience, which is a rare feature in these types of toys.
Plus, it’s completely submersible in water because it uses a magnetic charger instead of a USB port! That capability does come with a bit higher price tag, though.
- Dual stimulation for blended orgasms.
- Hands free capabilities.
- Syncs with music.
- Not VR compatible.
- Completely waterproof.
- Expensive.
We-Vibe Nova
Nova is We-Vibe’s more traditional app controlled rabbit vibrator.
It has a really nice curved shape and a flexible clitoral stimulator that allows you to keep the right pressure on the clit even when you adjust the shaft position.
Unlike Fuse, Nova has dual motors that allow you to adjust the clitoral stimulation separately from the shaft, and that is a huge deal to those of us who really like clit stimulation!
Nova is also compatible with the We-Vibe app and syncs with music. Plus it holds a charge for up to 2 hours with 90 minutes of charging. That’s twice the play time as the Fuse.
- Dual motors for better clit stimulation.
- Flexible clit arm for constant contact.
- Syncs with music.
- Not VR compatible.
- Comparable in price to the Fuse.
Lelo Insignia Soraya
The Lelo Soraya is an absolutely amazing rabbit vibrator.
It is not app controlled and does not work long distance, but if you just need a rabbit that works, this is the top of the line model.
The clit stimulator and shaft have separate motors so that you get full clitoral vibrations. The entire toy is waterproof and submersible. It’s also actually quiet! That’s something hard to find in a vibrator.
And if you’re worried about Fuse not lasting long enough with its 1 hour charge, you won’t have this issue with Soraya’s amazing 4 hours of maximum run time. That means no worries if you forget to recharge between uses.
- Dual motors for better clit stimulation.
- Not app compatible, so no long distance use.
- Not VR compatible.
- Completely waterproof.
- Holds 4 hours of charge.
- Quiet.
My Final Thoughts
Finding a rabbit vibrator that provides both amazing dual orgasms and long distance capabilities with a partner is tough. The vibrator options are getting better though.
The OhMiBod Fuse really shines at basic long distance toy pairing for partner play, allowing you and your partner to influence each other’s sensations in real time.
My colleague Jeff who’s another writer here recommends this brand as his top choice for long distance toys for couples.
It’s also one of the few toys on that market that is VR compatible, which can be a real benefit if you enjoy visual stimulation to help you reach an orgasm.
And if you just want some alone time with your toy, the touch-sensitive mode can really drive you wild, getting you to the edge and pulling you back to prolong your pleasure.
