This week we are sharing information about how physical disability plays a role in behavioral health issues. A perfect role model for making accommodations to include those who have physical disabilities is Noah, a young boy from Illinois.
Noah’s brother, Lucas, was born with a rare brain condition called Lissencephaly. But despite being non-verbal and with limited mobility, the two share a strong brotherly bond. So when Noah had the opportunity to compete in a youth triathlon, he made sure his brother could be a part of it.
Noah and Lucas successfully completed the triathlon, with Noah pulling Lucas in a bike stroller, towing him on a raft when he swam and pushing him while he ran. This heartwarming story is a good reminder that we should always strive to include others, and that we should not be limited or limit anyone else because of a mental or physical disability.
