While much of the focus on mental health issues is on treatment, Mental Health America brings up the topic of detection in their #B4Stage4 campaign.
The video below shows how our genetics and environment can lead to mental health conditions. Unfortunately,people living with mental health issues tend to go 10 years without receiving treatment. Early detection and treatment will lead not only to better health but also reduce the risk of dropping out of school, hospitalizations, incarcerations and unemployment.
Consider giving some thought to your mental health. It is important for everyone to be able to detect the warning signs of mental illness in themselves and their loved ones.
